I am so glad we elect such intellegent people to represent our states. An atheist senetor from Nebraska is suing God.
My question: isn’t that kind of self defeating as an atheist?

Well, I can think of much better ways of spending court resources, but I’m pretty sure that Chambers is actually inferring God, no more than Nietzsche claimed God was ever real when he proclaimed that God was dead.
Nietzsche was on about people’s source of morality, whereas Chambers is going on about court proceedings (and oddities therein). There’s no contradiction, just irony and unless the precedent achieves something, as waste of time.
Given that the report you linked to doesn’t comment on the potential importance (or lack thereof) of the case, do you have anything else that would validate your sarcasm about Mr Chambers?
